Christopher Sale is a New York City based designer with over seven years of professional experience on a range of interiors and new construction projects.
Christopher currently works with the New York Office of Corgan in the Empire State Building where he has extensive experience on a wide range of renovation and new construction aviation projects of a technical nature. He has worked extensively at both LaGuardia Airport and JFK International Airport.
Prior to joining the team at Corgan, Christopher interned with the "Workplace Research and Design Team" (Fidelity Real Estate Company) at Fidelity Investments in Boston, MA.
Christopher graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Architecture, minor in Landscape Architecture, and focus in Interior Design from Miami University in 2008. Christopher shared a first place rank in his graduating class and received both the departmental book award and Alpha Rho Chi medal for leadership, sevice, and promise of professional merit.
At Miami, Chris seved for one term as a student representative on the Campus Planning Committee and was also elected for two consecutive years by his peers to serve as class representative for the Department of Architecture and Interior Design Student Advisory Council (SAC). On the SAC Chris was responsible for the planning of four bi-yearly exhibitions of student work, providng input on the curriculum, and planning of social events including creating an annual pumpkin carving contest that endures to this day.
Christopher is a long-time resident of the historic Tudor City neighborhood in midtown Manhattan, where he lives in a multi-functional studio apartment he designed and renovated himself. In Tudor City, Christopher serves as a Director-at-Large and Co-Vice President of Activities on the Board of Tudor City Greens Inc., a New York 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve and enhance Tudor City's two landmarked parks.
For the Greens, Christopher oversees the planning and exectuion of the calendar of events, with each event attended by between 100 and 300 people. He is is the co-creator of two original additions to the annual programming for the Greens including an annual series of Garden Parties and the Tudor City Greens Spring Home Tour, the single-largest fundraising event ever held for the Greens which garnered widespread public and media attention.
When not working, Chris can often be found passionately pursuing a wide range of interests in the kitchen, in the garden, behind a piano, at the gym, working on community service projects, enjoying life in New York, or touring museums, homes, and gardens.
The son of a British father and an American mother, Christopher grew up in an international household and has lived in Northern New Jersey, Cincinnati, OH, Boston, MA, Pinehurst NC, New York City, and spent a summer taking part in a design-build studio in the village of Abrafo-Odumasi in Ghana, West Africa.
In 2011, as the recipient of the Corgan Prize, Chris traveled to 5 cities to visit over 13 comissions constructed by London-based firm, Foster + Partners. A short film chronicaling his travels was presented to over 300 Corgan Employees in Dallas and New York and can be seen under the "Journal" tab of this website.
