Tudor City Apartment Renovation (12)
Featured on the 2014 Tudor City Greens spring home Tour, Michele Keith Writes: "Architectural Designer Christopher Sale leads a busy, multi-faceted life and his 400 square-foot home reflects it with demarcated zones for working, sleeping, entertaining, music and cooking - a lot going on within four walls. While respecting a "sense of place" so that it feels right for Tudor City, he combined traditional, New England farmhouse details with clean lines producing a decor that is urban and contemporary yet also timeless. The predominant color is soft, dove grey, with such subtle shadings as a delicate blue for the ceiling and a hint of yellow for the doors to add interest. The result? Functional comfortable and very personal." -
Tudor City Studio (4)
A pleasing, neutral palette unified a variety of functions in a small studio apartment in Tudor City I rented from 2008 to 2012. The palette lent a 'luxe' and contemporary feel to otherwise simple, inexpensive furnishings. Open shelving and a butcher block cart enabled me to entertain out of the micro kitchenette while elevating functional kitchenwares to decorative elements in the space. Warm textures and Simple art I painted for the space provided understated accents to add interest to the offwhite walls of the rental. -
Midwestern Transitional (7)
The new Dean of the Miami University School of Fine Arts was midway through construction of a new home for his young family in suburban Oxford, Ohio when my friend Leslie Marticke and I began consulting on the project. We worked with Dean Lentini and his wife to assist with built-ins, paint selection, and cost effective finish alternatives to keep the project on budget.
